All about Bruce Laker;

I started coaching in 1983, just a local elementary school team and I slowly worked my way up the coaching ladder. From 1991 to 1994 I was the Head Keeper Coach for the Long Island Junior Soccer League Select boys program, during that time I started, and ran for two years, the Keeper Showcase at the Exceptional Senior Games held every November on Long Island. I also trained the keepers for William Floyd High School for one season. I left the LIJSL position when I moved out of New York state.

While living in Santa Fe, NM, I trained the keepers at two high schools, Santa Fe High School -  Girls Varsity and Capital High School - Boys Varsity.

I moved back to New York in 1997 and starting training some youth keepers. I am currently working with teams from Dix Hills, Brentwood, Sachem, Deer Park & East Islip. In 2006 I worked as the Assistant Keeper Coach for the Eastern New York Girls ODP program.

My playing career started in 1969 and I played until I was 31, when my body told me "enough".

During my youth career I played on several League and Provincial Championship teams and one National Championship team while growing up in Montreal, Canada.
Montreal, 1981 - New York, 2007

Winning is something
that you practice

Every day, you lace up your boots, put on your jersey and head out to the pitch, WHY?
If you want to win, train like a Champion and you will play like a Champion.
